Materials Controller
Job Description
We are recruiting a Materials Controller (Warehouse) for our client in Aberdeen.
This is a full time, permanent role.
Key role to ensure the receipt and control of our procured and free issue client supplied materials and/or consumables while ensuring adequate consumable stock quantities are maintained and that all material and consumable requests are issued to production on time. You will be accountable for supporting the overall delivery of our business objectives through the aligning of deliverables. Reporting directly to the TSL Delivery Manager and interfacing with Warehouse Management Team. This role is critical to our success as we evolve into one of the leading EPC contractors in the market.
Key Fundamentals: People, Process and Systems
In line with internal processes and “how to guides” you will:
- Working within the Technical Services Line (TSL) team, you will act as the primary interface for all warehouse materials management activities.
- Responsible for the day-to-day materials control that meets TSL planned objectives and in compliance with Planning / Materials Management Procedures.
- Participate in TSL project and platform planning meetings to understand materials distribution priorities.
- Promote alignment and adherence of client inventory processes to offshore / onshore TSL personnel.
- When issued with dispatch packaging list, support load out of shipping containers.
- Liaise with the Deck Foreman and Offshore Construction Supervision to ensure correct shipment and placement of materials in appropriate containers.
- Input appropriate data into Maximo and IGRIS.
- Responsible for Manifests / Requisitions / Rentals / Stockholding.
- Check shipping draft manifest to ensure that the correct materials are being shipped/transported.
- Control goods-in and goods-out, including completion of manifests and confirmation of certification.
- Compiling delivery notes when required, visual inspection of all TSL goods receipted.
- Apply traceability and job numbers on all goods and input into system where discrepancies arise and actively resolve.
- Where required, set up/implement tracker system for all goods receipted for full traceability.
- Responsible for the correct documentation of Hazardous materials – Dangerous Goods/Special Wastes (SEPA)/DEFRA.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and undertake stock takes where required.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Apply Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and Safety Management Systems and for reporting any non-conformities.
- Maintain / update temporary equipment register in accordance with site procedure (if required).
Desired Qualities / Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 Years’ experience within a similar role or relevant industry experience.
- Good working knowledge of fabrication and construction material management.
- Previous experience in the Materials Controller or supply based role.
- Maximo/stock management system user.
- Previous experience of offshore environment would be preferred.
- Forklift experience. B1 & B2 preferred not essential.
- Manual Handling.
- Driving License (preferred).
- Computer literate, including use of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience managing certification, including re-certification.
